Well here is some bad news for our Guitar Hero fans. The Smashing Pumpkins pack (which includes G.L.O.W., 1979 and the Everlasting Gaze) release has been delayed. They will now be released December 4th, 2008.

Hi Everyone,
I gave Siva (http://blamo.org) a little face lift tonight. I have larger plans for the site, although they have to wait until Summer 2009, when I graduate from graduate school and finally have some free time to play around on the site. Let me know what you think or if you are having any issues with the site. The biggest change is moving the navigation to the top of the site instead of to the left and updating the header graphics.
Last week, I had the privilege to review the Smashing Pumpkins play the Palace Theater here in Cleveland. I had been a big fan as a teenager in the 1990's but had failed to see them live despite wanting to go to a number of shows back in their heyday. When it was announced that Billy Corgan was bringing his band back after a lengthy hiatus I was anxiously awaiting to see the reincarnated band. I had thought of going to the Virgin Mobile Festival, which they headlined in the summer of 2007, but failed to act on the chance when I couldn't find a partner who wanted to put out the money and time to travel several states to see the band. The Smashing Pumpkins will be releasing G.L.O.W. and Superchrist on iTunes tomorrow as the first ever Digital 45.
How is this a digital 45? Well historically 45's had enough room for one song per side creating the main single (the A-side) and a subsequent song (the B-side). G.L.O.W. will be sold together with Superchrist as a digital 45 at a discounted rate on iTunes starting tomorrow.
We will have a direct link to iTunes first thing tomorrow so you can all get your hands on this first. The digital 45 will include all new album art for both songs.

Sitting now at the San Jose airport, waiting for a flight to Los Angeles seeing as my other flight was canceled. I love airports! Their fake security, their non-stop noise, their Starbucks addicted minions milling about like a khaki apocalypse. Reminds me why I love America so. Remember: America, love it or leave it!
Last evening we were able to play for the first time as a 9 piece version of the band, which is very exciting. The more we let go of how the band is supposed to appear numbers-wise and more of what it is supposed to sound like heart-wise, the closer we get to a present kind of truth.
