March 27, 2008 - Hordern Pavilion - Sydney, Australia Concert review by darren Siva - Zwan : Concert Reviews Im was just going to put it down as an amazing band having an off show, and that is being very polite. But at V fest The Smashing Pumpkins Version 2.0 showed why they just arent as good as they used to be. I watched their first concert back together ( Rockamring June 2 2007 ) and was quite blown away... it was amazing. But if i knew that this ( their pathetic renditions of almost every song ) was what it was going to be like then i wouldn't have bought tickets. I am a huge fan of their old work and of their new work, United States, Doomsday Clock, Starz. And they're not even in contest with the old killers like Fuck You and Silverfuck... ( which they didnt play ) it was as though they decided to play shit... really. Billy has only confirmed that he thinks he is the absolute shit, if you witnessed the awful and fan embarrassing guitar/amp feedback wank during united states well.... must i continue? Overall, if they continue as such they really should just fuck off and let better music come through for fans.
