March 23, 2003 - Agora Theatre - Cleveland, OH, US Concert review by Mike Siva - Zwan : Concert Reviews So the concert was last night and im still blown away. I've been waiting for a long time to see Zwan and finally the time had come. When my friend and I got to the Agora we went straight to the stage but it was pretty filled up. Where we were standing wasn't bad at all though. Soon enough the opening act, Children's Hour came on. Matt Sweenny actually introduced them. So they played for about a half hour. Dave Pajo played drums for a few songs. It was really cool. After the last song we had to wait about 45 to see Zwan. Then finally the band came to the stage. Opening with Mary Star of the Sea. I couldn't believe how great they sounded. After that they played "Ride a black swan" followed by "dont let me down". Billy was smiling before songs, after songs and during songs. They played every song on the album except for "Baby, Let's Rock" and "Come with me". It was a awesome show. They played to encores and they played "A new Poetry" And as Billy sang "Do you believe in me" he smiled as the crowd answered his lyric. He made silly faces and silly actions during the whole show. But the greatest part of it all was getting within 5-7 of Billy. When "Jesus, I" started and got really heavy people went nuts. First i was pissed. "This is Zwan, listen and love the music" I thought...but then i saw my chance to get closer. And i did. Though it was hard pushing my way through the crowd and trying to not fall over it was well worth it. By the end of the song i was right by the stage. After "jesus, I" they played "heartsongs" "yeah!" "of a broken heart" and maybe the best song of the night in my view "Declarations on Faith" The vibe of the crowd was great. Right as the song picks uo the whole crowd moved as one. Everyone jumping and having the greatest time they can possibly get. And why wouldn't they have the greatest time..They got the greatest concert. Zwan Fans....don't miss Zwan in concert. It's the best ****ing thing in the world. By Far. |
