February 22, 2003 - La Riviera - Madrid, Spain Concert review by burke Siva - Zwan : Concert Reviews a great show, we arrived at the venue 4 or 5 hours before the show started which was cool, because Billy, Yelena and Paz went out for a walk and when they came back they walked right passed us in line and Billy was shaking hands (including mine!), and Paz was posing for photos with the fans, it was cool, anyway, the opening band was okay, i forget what they were called, but the singer, she was really intense, anyway, after the first note of the opening band our ears were f*cked because we were front row right in front of the speakers, anyway, Zwan come out to the joy of the 2000 or so people in the club, their set was: Mary Star of the Sea Lyric Declarations of Faith For Your Love Endless Summer Honestly Jesus I/Godīs Gonna Set This World on Fire Of A Broken Heart Friends and Lovers Ride a Black Swan Settle Down ----------- Come With Me Spilled Milk Billy had Paz translate for him, but Paz didnīt do a good job of it, she spoke really quietly and didnīt translate correctly what Billy said, Billy said theyīd be back in Europe for the festivals and would play acoustic shows on their days off, that will be cool to check out, Billy and Paz seemed to have a lot of fun, he really teased her a lot during Spilled Milk, Billy was playing a tambourine, and then there were so many false endings, and Billy was doing it just to bug Paz, cause each false ending Paz thought it was the last one, they were all in a good mood, but they only played one encore i think because Pajo was sick, too bad, i would have loved a second encore as it would probably have been A New Poetry, one of my favourite songs, oh well, still a great night |
