February 17, 2003 - Columbiahalle - Berlin, Germany Concert review by Pat Mills (darkghost15 at hotmail dot com) Siva - Zwan : Concert Reviews What can i say....Incredible. The night kicked of pretty good my girlfriend and i came in late but ended up getting a great spot right up front but to the right of the stage we we´re wondering why nobody was up there but then we saw 12 huge speakers right in front of us. and no we didn´t think to bring earplugs (d´oh!!) Zwan´s special guests were "Mia" a local Berlin band, They had a kinda trippy alternative rock style. They were ok they gave alot of energy although pretty young looked like they attend the same university as my girlfriend. OK now for zwan Billy wore a black and white harlequin style shirt, Jimmy had this great set of drums (leopard skin) whith a jc shield on the front. Paz wore a little skirt and shirt, Matt looked like those guys you see at a truck stop And David just had grey jeans and A black t-shirt. They kicked of Mary star of the sea and added some great impros Billy looked really chilled out even a bit tired maybe, understandable cause he was playin the night before in Hamburg. But after he got really into it with help from Matt jammin with him. I sadly can´t say the complete set list but the best ones for me was jesus,I which just rocked everybody except this ond guy standing beside me he was a robot no feelings at all coming from him. Another one was "Friends are lovers/lovers are friends" Billy introduced like this: - HI it´s great to play here and we´re hoping to come back for some european festivals, this next song is from another band the djali zwan. It was great with paz playing the violin beautifully. They looked really relaxed up there they were even talking and joking around up there. I thought david was funny cause he just played with no emotion even when they were all rocking he just stood there and played. At one time paz went over to him to play together a bit and he playfully tapped on her foot to the rhythm. There last song was "spilled milk" which blew as all away, with Jimmy going crazy for a good 3 minutes and climatized by a nerve recking scream from Matt. They all said Goodbye and Billy stayed for a sec thanking us and shaking some hands. It was all and all a fantastic show (although the t-shirts for sale sucked). And i´m hopin to see them again soon hopefully by than my ears will stop ringing. |
