October 18, 2007 - Providence Performing Arts Center - Providence, RI, US Concert review by Lenore Siva - Zwan : Concert Reviews This was my second time seeing the pumpkins perform. I went to the Virgin Fest in Baltimore this past summer at which they were headlining. That atmosphere was completely different then the one at PPAC. I had center balcony seats, great view and sound. When I heard the opening song and realized it was 'Starla' I couldn't have been happier! It is one of my favorites. Billy's attire was absolutely ridiculous and I loved it (big boots, striped leggings, and what seemed to be an RN scrub of sorts?). Also another favorite song of mine they played was 'Set the ray to Jerry' which pretty much made the night. A friend of mine that was seated directly in front of the stage told me afterwards that when Billy came out to do his solo acoustic act he (my friend) kept yelling "Ugly! Ugly!" (a request for the song) and Billy looked down at him and said "I know I am". Whhhhaaaaa??! for real. Also, Jimmy came out to tambourine it up for Billy's acoustic act. While he was tambourining, he hoisted his right leg up on a platform near his drums and leaned against it which looked very silly, oh that Jimmy! |
