September 30, 2007 - Red Rocks - Morrison, CO, US Concert review by Jenelle (windingv1nes at yahoo dot com) Siva - Zwan : Concert Reviews Beautiful show, great sound quality, Red Rocks has ALWAYS been a special place for Musicians! The Smashing Pumpkins currently are "armed and ready" and so was the crowd. The singing, orchestration, sound engineering, lighting and set list were of complete professional perfection. This show seems to have meticulously blended Siamese Dreamers and Zeitgeist pounding rhythms perfectly. Only this group could transcend even the former SP, sheer genius. Some highlights: 1979 Billy Solo on acoustic, To Sheila's sweet symphony, and yes "Life is a bummer when you're a hummer", while June was "counting the spiders as they crawled up inside her" melting with I of mourning and Drown. BC may be heading towards 40, but I feel a lot of up and coming artist should take a lesson, for the Machines of God have spoke, and boy did the Ghost Children Hear! Ginger sure could jam with Jimmy as if they knew one another for 20 years and Jeff held a wonderful and enlightening presents on the stage, the band has a playful energy and were all about jamming out and having a good time. Thanks SP for the psychedelic drowning memories! |
