June 26, 2007 - Orange Peel - Asheville, NC, US Concert review by Peter Siva - Zwan : Concert Reviews (unknown: "Question Mark") - A pretty song, straightforward but nice to listen to. (unknown: "Mama") - another pretty one. In My Body - Not the most energetic song, but definitely cool to hear. jeff did some nice guitar work Glass and the Ghost Children - Slightly closer to the album version, but still not the same. well played. Blue Skies Bring Tears - VERY different than the album version, way more rockin', different melody. I liked the new style, it sounded good. Bullet with Butterfly Wings - Live there may not be a more perfect song than this. There's a sing-a-long, screaming, fist pumping and devil-horns. Tarantula - It was clear that a lot of people hadn't gotten acquainted with it. That didn't stop me and the whole front row from rocking out though. Starz - Way more rockin' than I expected it to be, even though I've heard it. Billy seemed to really enjoy this one Drown - yessss...Billy ripped a pretty badass solo on this as I recall Hummer - This is becoming one of my favorite songs purely for how loud it is now. Stand Inside Your Love - I thoroughly enjoyed singing along with "I'll wrap my wire around your heart and your mind/You're mine forever now" United States - Every light on stage was pointed at Jimmy's kit and flashed in multi-colored light. I thought that his drum kit might lift off like a UFO from another planet. I LOOOVE this song. Gossamer - they cleaned up the ending so that it doesn't just wind down and end, it sounded really solid. Tonight, Tonight - Good. Untitled - Jeff played some pretty badass solos during this one. Lucky 13 - Jimmy is amazing. Damn rockin'. Come On (Let's Go) - let your fears be put to rest, this song ROCKS HARD. Starla - Billy's guitar solo: 4 minutes long. He forgot the words to the bridge and asked the crowd to sing it, pretty funny (unknown: "If All Goes Wrong") - Introduced as "this is a sad song," it had the message of 'if you believe in me and I don't work out, then what will you do?" Super depressing, but beautiful. The Crying Tree of Mercury - this song retained all it's beauty without all the filling. Rocket - good crowd sing along. Annie-Dog - lovely, lovely, lovely. 7 Shades of Black - I was hoping they'd play this, and they did and it rocked. Doomsday Clock - every bit as good as the recorded version, but better because Billy screams more. Disarm - good. Muzzle - I don't know if anyone wasn't singing along. Awesome. Zero - YOU WANNA GO FOR A RIDE?! Fuckin' rock. Today - The crowd sang the first few lines at billy's urging and he just grinned like an idiot. By Starlight (tease) > Silverfuck - It may have been By Starlight, it may have been Porcelina, but it was DEF. silverfuck. LOUD. |
