April 22, 2003 - Warfield Theater - San Francisco, CA, US Concert review by Jake (jcoriha at hotmail dot com) Siva - Zwan : Concert Reviews Here's the setlist with guitars/instrument changes all my fellow musicians out there. Billy had 2 sunburst strats he alternated between. 1 with a white pickguard (SNL), and 1 w/a black pickguard (Letterman). Pajo used 2 SGs, a walnut, and a white. Could not see when he changed though. Sweeney alternated between a couple of black ES 335 or 355 all night, except on Heartsong. Mary Star of the Sea (extended) (Billy-Flying V) Endless Summer (Billy-White) For Your Love (Billy-White) Lyric (Billy-White) Declarations of Faith (Billy-Black) El Sol (Billy-Black) Jesus, I/Star Spangled Banner/God's Gonna Set This World on Fire (Billy-Jaguar) Riverview (Billy-White) Baby Let's Rock (Billy-White) Heartsong (Sweeney-12 String Billy-Reverand Paz-Violin) Of A Broken Heart (Sweeney-ES Billy-Reverand Paz-Violin Pajo-Keyboards) Honestly (slightly extended) (Billy-Black) Settle Down (Billy-Black) ------ Spilled Milk (Billy-White) ------ A New Poetry (Billy-Jaguar Pajo-12 String) The 12 String is weird one. The Reverand might be a new custom one, since for Machina he had a Reverand baritone. This new one may be tuned to a differant key, since I think "Of A Broken Heart" is an F#m. A lot of the leads are Corgan/Sweeney unisons or harmonies. Pajo played minimal leads. Billy had several extended solos (Mary, Jesus). The whole upper balcony (of which I was unfortunately on)stood for the encores. Good show, although Billy seemed to go through his trademark boredom/love of crowd mannerisms though most of the show. For Your Love seemed to get a great reaction, as did most of the set. The biggest reaction though was to the masterpiece of the album, Mary Star of the Sea. Jimmy once again proved himself to be master of the drums and especially the snare variety. The Children's Hour were OK to me, somewhere around a 6 on a 10 scale. Points for originality, and bravery though. Glass Lives |
