James is entering the realm of fashion yet again. He's worked with United Bamboo to release a set of sweaters inspired by stained glass; the sweaters will be part of a box set that also includes a record by James and Britta Phillips (of Jem fame).
James has previously worked on soundtracks for United Bamboo's runway shows.

"The first sessions in September involved 4 songs: 'A Song For A Son', 'Astral Planes,' 'Widow Wake My Mind,' and 'A Stitch in Time.' What song would come out first really didn't cross my mind until they were all done being recorded. 'A Song For A Son' just seemed like it had the right epic quality to it that says, 'OK, here we go on this massive journey!' It sounds like the beginning of something more.

When you throw the term super group around, the tendency is to dwell on the star studded lineup that earned the group its “super” status, and Tinted Windows is no exception. The power pop quartet has been riding high upon the heels of their self-titled freshman debut, but on the surface, the group’s lineup makes for a much better story than the album.
With Taylor Hanson on vocals, Adam Schlesinger of Fountains of Wayne on bass, Cheap Trick’s Bun E. Carlos on drums, and guitar riffs from James Iha of both Smashing Pumpkins/A Perfect Circle Fame, drafting up a feature on these guys without paying tribute to their previous…

I'm happy to finally announce the plans for the new Smashing Pumpkins album.
Recording began yesterday, September 15th, 2009 on the new record which will be entitled 'Teargarden by Kaleidyscope'. The album will feature 44 songs, 4 of which are now being recorded. My desire is to release a song at a time beginning around Halloween of this year, with each new release coming shortly after until all 44 are out. Each song will be made available absolutely for free, to anyone anywhere. There will be no strings attached. Free will mean free, which means you won't have to sign up for anything, give an email address, or jump through a hoop. You will be able to go and take the song or songs as you wish, as many times as you wish.
